Air-Fryer Breakfast Sausages

In mere minutes, these Air-Fryer Breakfast Sausages cook to a golden, sizzling perfection!

If you’ve ever doubted that it’s possible to enjoy a healthier way to fry up sausages, you’re not alone. Many of us have resigned ourselves to the idea that we can’t have the best of both worlds. But thankfully, those days of compromise are behind us. With an air fryer, sausages are not only easier to prepare, but also come out with a touch less grease—a win for convenience and health alike.

Using an air fryer eliminates much of the grease and oil that usually come with cooking sausages. Plus, you can skip the constant flipping or babysitting of the links. At most, you’ll only need to turn them once halfway through cooking. This leaves you free to focus on preparing the rest of your breakfast while your air fryer takes care of the heavy lifting. The result? Sausages that are perfectly cooked with a juicy inside and a crisp, golden-brown exterior—full of flavor and ready to savor.

Are Air-Fryer Breakfast Sausages Healthy?

Air-fryer breakfast sausage is one of the easiest and potentially healthier ways to prepare sausage. The air fryer eliminates the need for added oil, reducing extra fat and calories, and allows excess grease to drip away while cooking. Of course, the amount of fat may vary depending on the meat, so choose based on your dietary needs and taste preferences. Either way, you still get a good dose of protein. Just be sure to check your sausage ingredients to avoid unnecessary fillers. Vegetarians and vegans can swap in Impossible Sausage or a similar meatless option.

Open Seasoning

If this recipe sounds simple, that’s because it is! But that doesn’t mean you can’t amp the flavor. For pre-seasoned sausages, try a drizzle of hot honey or maple syrup after cooking to add a punch of sweetness. If you’re working with plain or minimally seasoned sausages, toss them with a light coat of oil and sprinkle on thyme, oregano, or rosemary before cooking. For an extra kick, add cayenne or onion powder to the mix!

How To Make Ahead And Store

If you have leftover sausages, refrigerate them in an airtight container, but try to eat them within 2 or 3 days. Otherwise, freeze them; they will stay good for up to 3 months.

Serving Suggestions

Air-fryer sausage is the perfect complement to any egg-based breakfast dish. This includes an Omelette or a slightly more advanced Pesto Egg White Omelette With Goat Cheese. The same holds true for pancakes and waffles. For example, you can serve a side of sausage with this Pancakes Recipe or some Authentic Belgian Waffles. Even if all you’re making is scrambled eggs and toast, no breakfast is complete without some air-fryer sausage links.
